Caitlyn Jenner: Former Olympic Gold Medalist and Media Personality

Early Life and Career

Caitlyn Jenner was born William Bruce Jenner on October 28, 1949, in Mount Kisco, New York. She is an American media personality and former Olympic decathlete who won a gold medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal.

Jenner began her track and field career at Graceland College in Iowa. She later transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she won the decathlon at the 1975 NCAA Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Olympic Success

In 1976, Jenner competed in the decathlon at the Summer Olympics in Montreal. She set a world record in the event with a score of 8,618 points, winning the gold medal.

After the Olympics, Jenner became a motivational speaker and television personality. She also appeared in several films and television shows, including "The Love Boat" and "Murder, She Wrote."

Transition and Later Life

In 2015, Jenner publicly came out as transgender and began using the name Caitlyn. She underwent gender confirmation surgery in 2017.

Since her transition, Jenner has become an outspoken advocate for the transgender community. She has also been involved in politics, running unsuccessfully for Governor of California in 2021.
